"Run."
The agent's voice registered in my mind, but I thought I wasn't hearing him correctly.
"What?"
"Go now. You must run."
I grabbed the small slip of paper from his hand, looked at my best friend, and took off. She followed.

We ran: weaving through theBarcelona airport dodging children, the elderly and loads of stray luggage. We were on a mission to reach Gate 167.

A thin brunette held the door for us as we ran up to the gate. She forced a smile as she checked our tickets.

"Hurry," was all she said.

I felt a surge of adrenalin as we sprinted onto the tarmac for the last stretch. The plane sat 25 yards in front of us engine idling, and we didn’t know if we were going to make it or not.
