“No regrets”…they say we should live our lives without regrets… if it were only that easy, right? Most of us hold onto 1 or 2 (or a mountain full) of things we feel regretful for in our lifetimes. A lost love, those words you WISH you had said, the weight you wish you had lost….you know them, right?

I encourage you to confront them….take those suckers on and scrap about them… or just one. Need a challenge to force you into battling them on the scrapyard?? Okay…

I challenge you to scrap a page AND journal about one of your regrets. This can be something superficial to something serious and painful… it’s up to you how far you want to dig. I DO encourage you to use this as an opportunity to really stretch yourself. Journaling is very powerful and you might be surprised by how you feel afterward.

I personally think I failed at this challenge. The challenge is to JOURNAL, but when I tried… all I could do was cry… I lost my Mother unexpectedly 5 years ago… FIVE.. yet, it’s still so hard for me to tackle the regret I feel for so many things in our relationship. I just wasn’t ready to write all those words out, BUT I am glad I tried… that’s what it’s all about. No right or wrong.

I hope you’ll try to tackle something on your “R” list…

Hey Lauren, I LOVE this post and have been using my pages as a well to journal abt difficult stuff too. Re your mom, I lost mine almost 8 years ago but honestly was only able to journal a SINGLE layout about her a year ago. So don’t worry-when it needs to happen, your words will come. In the meantime, I’m so sure she knows how much she is loved

  2. Lauren…YOU INSPIRE ME! Although you may think your words on a page are few, your layout speaks volumes because its your legacy, your story. As time goes by you will be able to place more of those words buried deep within your soul into a layout…take one day, one page at a time…eventually one day you will have “One Story Down”…thank you for sharing from your heart! <3

Hey Lauren, this is great!! I was thinking of sharing this site with my (Dutch) paperscrappingfriends since they won’t bump upon this site by themselfs that fast I think. Seeing this post, I am definately doing this right now!!!

Don’t you know those few words you have written mean more than a thousand words? You have journaled and it hits home! That’s what it is all about! It’s beautiful and your mom knows it, promise! xxx
    miss you, Maaike

I never think about making something pretty with journaling about things I feel negative about…but this is a great idea. I think it’s important to work through those feelings of regret and I love that all of you shared your thoughts so publicly.
