Welcome to another edition of Scrapper Spotlight! Today’s Scrapper was picked out by the fabulous Brynn-Marie. Brynn had the chance to work with Lee-Anne recently & raved about how sweet she was! <3 Give a big ol’ welcome to Lee-Anne Thornton!!! Let’s get to know a bit more about her….
Q: WHY do you scrap?
A: I scrapbook because I love the creative process of starting with a blank piece of cardstock or patterned paper, and seeing the page come to life with photos and embellishments. Just like a canvas is to a painter. It is so therapeutic for me. I scrapbook what is on my mind for that day and I put my emotion into my pages. It is also my way of documenting my family and my life.
Q: When did you start scrapbooking?
A: I started scrapbooking in 2001. I was a cross-stitcher for about ten years and loved to cross-stitch to relax. In 2001, my girlfriend had started to scrapbook and asked if I would like to join her for a “crop”. I didn’t know what that was but went and had a great time learning how to scrapbook with paper, scissors, glue and stickers. We all wore our pajamas and scrapbooked late into the night. It was so much fun. It wasn’t until about two years ago in 2010 that I really began to take it more seriously. Now I scrapbook just about everyday.
Q: Paper or Digi?
A: I am a paper girl. I love the process of choosing the perfect photo, the color scheme, the papers, and cutting and gluing. I love the texture and dimension of paper scrapbooking. Having said that, I am always wanting to learn new things and would love to learn how to digital scrapbook someday as it is a new craft to learn and I love learning new things.
Q: I can’t scrap without _____.
A: My Making Memories paper trimmer and my Diet Pepsi.
Q: I bet you didn’t know _____.
A: Hated art class in school & didn’t like the idea of having to rush in class to keep up with the rest of the students. I can’t be rushed & have to have plenty of time to create.
Q: Favorite scrap store?
A: I have a few favorite stores and I love them because they are all so different. They each have their very own styles and culture.
