Have you ever hit a road block with your page layouts and feel like you’ve gotten into a scrapper’s rut? One thing I think helps to get out of a scrap rut is to think outside the typical 12 x 12 box (or 8 x 11 or 8 x8 boxes). Think outside of the page and into the world of 3D and hybrid crafts. There are amazing hybrid scrappers out there who can take digital products, print them and create fabulous pages (Leanne, Brynn & Nirupama to name a few). But you can take it even further and create some cool craft things with just a little effort and ingenuity.

Print out some of your favorite paper, grab some mod podge and a little bit of old silverware…

Or you could take that idea to the extreme…

Print out an element and use it as a template to hand-carve a stamp

Print paper/elements and create a fun little garland.

Print elements onto card stock, glue onto cardboard and create magnets…

Use elements from a kit as cutting files for a Silhouette Cameo. If you don’t have a cutting machine, print out elements and hand trace onto fabric/felt to make appliques.

Are you a font geek? Has a designer created one of your all-time favorite alphas? Use it to create something fun. (They used vinyl letters, but you can hand cut letters if you don’t have vinyl.) Or you could even use cute elements and mod podge again and create a lantern to adapt to any theme.

Turn elements into freezer paper stencils…

Make your own covered journals. Print out paper/elements and go crazy covering comp books. The image below and the linked tutorial is for fabric, but you can do pretty much the same thing with paper and adhesive.

There are tons of project ideas out there once you start thinking outside of the box. Just use your favorite digi supplies and get them out of the computer and into your world!

Let us know if you have other hybrid/craft project ideas to highlight the great digi products you’ve collected from One Story Down!
