What does your world look like right now?

The other day, the amazing Ali Edwards invited readers to share a little glimpse into their lives by creating a blog post or layout about what is going on in their worlds. I thought it would be great to jump in and invite you to do the same. Sometimes we get caught up in looking at major events in our lives, and we forget to take note of the little, everyday moments that we might forget in the days, months, years ahead. So today, join in the challenge and talk about your world.

Right now I’m…

Loving the weather. In the Pacific NW, it is still fairly warm here in the afternoons, but the mornings are a bit grey and foggy with a slight chill to the air that brings back memories of walking to school, Friday night football games, and haunted hayrides.

Daydreaming about all kinds of fun Fall activities and putting together a bucket list.

Surprised by the cost of food lately. The other day I was at the store, and it just really hit me how expensive things like fresh fruit (or a lot of healthy options) are. It makes me thankful that we are able to buy most things that we need or want, and it makes me sad to think of the people who struggle and can’t afford to feed their families. When apples are $2.99 a pound and berries are $3.00 for 6 oz (on sale), it is crazy.

Writing a novel. I just joined a new writing group (focused on writing novels) and we had our first meeting last night. It was interesting to see the diversity of the group and to share in the energy of ideas and creativity.

Excited about a new piece of property we are purchasing in Long Beach, Washington. For years I’ve loved Long Beach, and it is a dream come true to have a place to go and get away when the mood strikes. We’re supposed to pick up our keys this Saturday, so it is a little nerve-wracking, but fun. I’m totally a bundle of emotions over it all. It is the first time buying a home for me, and I was a little overwhelmed by the complexity of the whole process. I’m looking forward to decorating and putting our own touches on the place, but also kind of nervous about not really knowing the amount of work we’ll have ahead. I’m trying to put together a list of things we’ll need (like a bed) and/or packing stuff that we have to take, so it all feels kind of crazy right now.

Worried about my in-laws and their health issues.

Harvesting vegetables from the garden.

Cherishing each visit I have with my 92-year old grandmother. The other day, before she left my house, I started to cry because I know that I won’t always have her around.

Looking forward to the holiday season. We have a lot of birthdays starting in September, and it feels like time just rolls so quickly. Before we know it, we’re right into the holiday season and we’re celebrating one thing or another until mid-January.

Creating scrapbook layouts, recipes, artsy-craftsy projects and more. Pinterest has been a huge part of my life for the past few months, and I have loads of fun pins that I’ve been looking forward to trying out.

Feeling tired.

Wanting to get back into Project Life after Anna’s post. I will never be on track with it, but I’d like to make a few more pages anyway.

Listening to Doc McStuffins (Kennedy’s favorite show is on in the background), The Truth About Love (P!nk), Battle Born (The Killers), and miscellaneous playlists.

Enjoying the new season of tv shows… The Mindy Project, New Girl, The New Normal, and Go On.

What about you??? What does your world look like? Give us a glimpse. Blog and link up… or create a scrap page highlighting some things going on in your world at the moment.
