    RIP MCA

Do you like the Beastie Boys? Unfortunately Adam Yauch aka MCA passed away today. Booo.

Seriously, I had to take a minute and collect myself when I found out. SO bummed! I love them and always will. Gavin loves to sing "Brass Monkey." His version is a little more like Brass Monkey, that chunky monkey...

We have sung that song to our kids for, like, ever, because they are all funky monkeys.
They also love the "robot movie," aka Intergalactic.
It sucks. He did a lot of work for charity as well, and was an all-around positive person.

My kids crack up because I sing all of their songs, but Intergalactic I might get just a tad crazier on. LOL! I call my boys my monkeys and I guess that is why that song is a fave, too.

Sad, indeed. Love the Beastie Boys to this day. DH and I crank them up all the time.

It sucks. I felt like I did when Joey Ramone died from cancer... Rock stars are supposed to go out in a blaze of glory, or at least over dose on something KWIM?... not have something like cancer take them out.... truly tragic

Ugh! I love the Beaties. I love there music and I they are pretty righteous guys. I remember listening to Paul Revere - it was a B Side to Fight For Your Right - over and over again with my brother. There was just something so cool about it - and we knew our parents wouldn't want us to be listening.

This memory has had me looking all over the house for my 45 collection. I know where my 33s are, but not those. I know I still have that record.
Scrapping for Michelle Godin (Some day I'll update my sig!)
