Nothing special planned here. I don't much like the crowds at the restaurants either. We'll probably go see my mother briefly, but other than that I hope for a nice quiet peaceful day.
In all honesty....I'm dreading Mother's Day! Seriously!
My birthday last month was pure crap! I did get wonderful comments on my Facebook page, a phone call from my parents, a card from DH, and flowers and a card from my son. Other than that.....nothing! No cake, no GCs, nada, zip, zilch! Yep! I did a huge rant on my blog but really don't want to share right now because I sound like a whiny-butt 47 y/o! Almost ashamed to even post here.
So, I doubt Mother's Day this year is going to be all that much better! Oh well....it is what it is!
BTW: I go all out on everyone's birthday each year making sure they have a birthday cake and a little something to let them know I care. Not my family!
I don't really like Mother's Day since I lost my mom...... i try to just ignore it.
usually we go out to eat or something, but keep it very low key.
xo
things will be super low key here for us. my boys love to "help" make breakfast with Daddy on special days and always have a sweet little card for me. i'm hoping the weather will be nice so we can enjoy a few hours in the boat... but it'll really be just like every other day. which is lovely ♥

I am going to be in Kansas for my son's college graduation! My mom will be there, too. So I don't know, maybe we'll go out for barbecue. But his graduation is on Sunday, so actually it will probably be monopolized by the event, which is just fine. It's a great way to spend the day, couldn't ask for more!
I made photo books for my mom and my MIL. I hope they like them.
Mel, I am only 36 years old, but I haven't gotten anything for my birthday in a LONG time. I also always go all out for everyone else. The kids aren't included in this of course. They make me cards and stuff so that I always, always LOVE! As for everyone else I guess I am just chopped liver. It didn't bother me at first, but after a few years it did start to sting.
I say send your mom a mothers day card just because you can. It will confuse her also lol That alone is worth a couple bucks!!
I'm putting together about 10 small bouquets in glass "bowl" vases for all the mothers at my moms store. Including the bosses wife. I've made a bigger one for my mother and she doesn't know it =] Theyre fake flowers for all of them so they will never die, just like a mothers love. I might try and decorate the vases a bit, not sure yet - dont wanna ruin anything lol
Also trying to get a GPS for my mom so she can be more secure about the area after I move to NC but the biggest surprise is going to be myself and my sister sneaking her and her kids up here at the end of the month. She doesnt get to see them often and for a very long time my sister wouldnt have anything to do with her because she'd been misguided. But - it's almost all good now!
6 kids...3 adults....2 dogs...1 cat....*blinks* Thankfully, it will only be for the weekend lol Else I might not live through this!

Awww, that is amazing, Danielle!!!
I am going to send her one from the kids because like I said they don't deserve to be in the middle of all of this. I guess I will decide when I buy my cards whether or not I will send her one. She will probably just throw it away. I mean this is the woman who told me the photo album I had printed for her was "nice", but the photos were a little too small.
LOL Robin. That is the only way I get anything as well...hahaha!
