Today’s scrapper in the spotlight is someone who will knock your socks off! Her creative scrapbook pages are awe inspiring and full of amazing details! She’s on some fab Design Teams (digi peeps, that’s the same as “Creative Team”) like Studio Calico & Kesiart! Please give a big warm welcome to Céline Navarro, aka the Green Frog!!!!
Q: WHY do you scrap?
A: I scrapbook for many reasons. I’ve always been into creating since I was a kid : painting, drawing, making collages, creating mixed media art. I can’t live without spending a day in my studio. I scrapbook because I want to remember those beautiful moments of my life and my loved ones’. I want to remember the good times and also the bad ones (I think it’s good to be able about what makes us ache sometimes). I want my children (I have none for now) to see what their momma’s life was before they arrived
Q: When did you start scrapbooking?
A: I used to do way more Mixed Media art years ago. I lived in Montreal, Canada, for almost a year, back in 2004, and when I moved back to France, I wasn’t scrapbooking yet but met a friend who introduced me to Karine Cazenave-Tapie. We immediately clicked. Karine was the first professional scrapbook teacher in France at that time and she invited me to teach Mixed Media at a scrapbook event. I went. On Saturday evening, the teachers were asked to make a 12×12 layout : I had never made one before! It was a disaster! I hated my layout and thought I would never do it again! But see : I couldn’t resist and, 5 years later, it’s my full time job!
Q: Paper or Digi?
A: I would say 99% paper, but I can’t resist playing with digi every now and then! Let’s say I’m more Hybrid than a total digi addict. But I looooove playing on Photoshop. I have a Master Degree in Photography and Photoshop has been my best friends for years
Q: I can’t scrap without _____.
A: anything that make your hands dirty !
Q: What’s your “theme song”?
A: awww…that’s hard. I’m a total music girl. I can’t stay in a silence house, there’s always music playing around. Hmmm…let’s say Cornerstone by the Arctic Monkeys.
Q: I bet you didn’t know _____.
A: i bet you didn’t know i went to a french TV game show in September, went to the finals against the Champion and almost won lots of money! Yeah, you got it. I lost !
Q: Favorite scrap store?
A: I have lots! I’ve been travelling a lot these past 5 years, teaching scrapbook classes all over the world, and I’ve been lucky to teach at amazing scrapbook stores, such as Made With Love in Singapore, Scrapbook Oasis in Irvine, CA, ScrapNana in Rio de Janeiro, Le Temple du Scrap in Paris…Well, lots and lots! If you want your store to be my new favorite, you can definitely invite me to teach! ah!
