Scrapper Spotlight | Anna Dixon

Welcome to another edition of Scrapper Spotlight! Today’s scrapper has a style all her own…. it’s a bit messy and wonky and full of fun! Here unique creations always make me want to scrap! You may have seen her pages here because she’s also a member of the OSD Creative Team! Give a big warm and fuzzy welcome to Anna Dixon (aka whatannaloves)!!! Let’s get to know more about this chicky….
Q: WHY do you scrap?
A: There are 2 reasons I scrap. First, as a creative outlet. My Mom is a incredible artist, I remember her drawing us pictures to color instead of buying us coloring books (she was crafty before crafty was cool), and my brother was sketching intricate tractor engine diagrams in first grade. I on the other hand, couldn’t draw a Christmas tree to save my life. Digi scrap is a way for me to be artistic and it actually be pretty. Second, I am a huge nerd and my family’s self appointed historian. I love that I can scan old photos, incorporate them into a page, and then journal all of the fabulous stories I heard growing up. I recently found a ton of old newspaper articles from the 1930′s about my Grandma and her siblings singing at county fairs. How amazing that her great great grandkids will know someday that she was kind of a rockstar?!
Q: When did you start scrapbooking?
A: I actually started less than a year ago in August 2011. I was searching the internet for cute cow clipart to make signs for my 4-H club. I randomly ended up in a digi scrap store.
Q: Paper or Digi?
A: Mostly Digi (with a side of paper. I am slightly addicted to washi tape and Mister Huey’s mist.)
Q: I can’t scrap without _____.
A: my iphone to take fun pictures or my huge stash of paint splatters!
Q: What’s your “theme song”?
A: hot mess by tyler farr
Q: I bet you didn’t know _____.
A: i try to make all of my layouts look like what I want my paper layouts to be. A hot mess, full of splatters, scribbles, and just a little bit wonky!
Q: Favorite scrap store?
A: Digi- One Story Down, The Lilypad and Danielle at Kitschy Digitals has some amazing vintage inspired elements. For my mini albums I stock up on ephemera at local antique stores and thrift shops. I buy all my mists and stamps online at Two Peas In A Bucket or Studio Calico.

Cute stuff Anna! I really like your Love Puppy page. The photo is really cool. Did you edit it somehow to look like that?
Thanks Bonnie! I used an iphone app called SwankoLab on that photo of my pupcakes.
