Happy Birthday Eric Carle
Today is Children’s Author/Illustrator, Eric Carle’s, Birthday!!!
I’ve been in love with not only his stories, but his artwork for as long as I can remember. I studied children’s literature/author’s in Graduate School and aspired to some day be as talented as he.
Not familiar with Eric Carle? I highly recommend you check out the links below…. I know you’ll soon be a in love as well.
Author of ever popular The Very Hungry Caterpillar; Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See?; and The Mixed-Up Chameleon has illustrated over 70 books and has an artistic style all his own.
He creates his art by painting on tissue paper then using those sheets to create incredible collage work. Be sure to check out this video from NPR on Eric Carle about his love of color and his technique: VIDEO HERE.
I love this video of him discussing how he was inspired…and watching him create in his studio!
Then, watch him read The Very Hungry Caterpillar….
or even better take a trip up to Massachusetts (USA) and visit The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art…
In honor of this creative man, we’ve decided to use his creates as a jumping point to create some new products in his honor… I hope you enjoy!
Our Eric Carle line is on sale 25% off through the 26th!

Pretty! This was a really wonderful article. Many thanks for
providing these details.
I’ve got a board book compiled by Bill Martin Junior. and illiustrated by Eric Carle known as “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, exactly what do the thing is?Inch that’s misprinted. It’s two pages featuring bears and also the crimson cat page is missing. Is that this rare? Or did I simply obtain a bad book?
