I don’t know about you, but I really love the idea of getting into a habit (and attitude) of gratitude. You have probably seen our regular Sunday Gratitude blog posts, so this is just sort of an extension of that.

Thirty Days of Gratitude is a simple way to put the idea of being thankful into practice on a daily basis. It is easy peasy. Every day, during the month of November, stop and think about those things in your life that make you feel thankful or grateful. They don’t have to be big things or profound things. Some days they might be, and some may not. But just find something. Even if it is just one little thing. Jot it down.

I am not sure where the idea for using November to celebrate 30 Days of Gratitude first originated, or who started it, or how it spread. I just know that I am glad that it did. I’ve been participating in the 30 Days of Gratitude for several years, and I’ve seen it grow exponentially. I love checking Facebook and seeing people from all different areas and places in life who post a gratitude moment/thought as their status at some point during the day. It sort of makes the gratitude contagious.

If you want to be really creative, you can snap photos to coincide with your gratitude for the day and compile a mini album. Cathy Zielske, scrapper extraordinaire, is undertaking 30 Days of Thankful at her blog and sharing her pages on Fridays.

There is also a website called 30daysofgratitude.org which has a lot of information, quotes, tips, links to other projects, etc. They also have a Facebook page. I also stumbled across a Flickr group, but I’m not sure if it is associated with their organization.

There are lots of other groups out there participating. If you search the web, you can find a ton of information and project ideas.

Here at OSD, we created a forum thread where people are able to go in and post their daily gratitude during the month of November. It may be the middle of the month, but that just means that there are still 15 days left to get into the spirit and join in! What’s stopping you?
