Today, I am thankful to have finished my year-long scrap project for 2012 – Project Life. I can say that I got behind a few weeks several times or started to feel like my life wasn’t interesting enough and got a little discouraged. When I did, I would spend 10 minutes or so looking at the album(s) so far and be so re-energized! I scrap about my family’s lives quite often from every day events to holidays and other special occasions so I feel like I am telling our stories but those books are truly a microcosm of who we were right then, from what delicious meal my daughter cooked for herself at college or what fun activities she and her friends enjoyed to what shoes my son likes to wear and what he does after school with his free time, screen shots of texts from my kids showing the way we communicate right now. Little tiny pieces, snippets of our lives that I wouldn’t have captured any other way.

I’m not suggesting that everyone needs to do a fancy, weekly Project Life or anything but I would encourage everyone to document some little things about life right now. It could be clothes and shoe sizes/preferences of the kids, favorite TV shows, songs or books, your/their favorite outfit or pajamas, what the family eats for a weekend breakfast, a conversation on the way to/from school, what you eat for lunch or pack for your kids to eat, the car you have right now… the possibilities are endless.
