I work backwards on almost everything I do. I don’t know why, but I’ve been that way for a long time. So probably 90% of the time, I start a scrapbook layout and have the page completed before I figure out what picture I’m going to add. And probably 90% of the time, that works for me. But then there are those other times that it just doesn’t work. Why? Because I don’t have a picture to go with the layout I just worked so hard to create. Ay caramba!

Lately it seems like I have been stuck in a photo rut. I have thousands of the same sorts of pictures; same people, different clothes, different days. I need to breathe some life into my photo taking. Part of me wants to join a photography group so I could go out and take pictures I wouldn’t normally take, but time/childcare are factors. Part of me is also shy and doesn’t want to have to join a new group where I don’t know anyone. Hahaha. So what is a girl to do?

I decided I would go on a photos-to-take list roundup! There are tons out there, and they should give me (or anyone else [hint hint]) new ideas for photos. I thought I’d share my finds with you. Starting with new photos to take in the month of August.

Rebecca Cooper @ Simple as That has a lot of different lists, and most are downloadable. She only asks that you follow her blog to download them for free. Some that aren’t pictured are checklists for the holiday (Christmas) and one for Spring.

And Katrina Kennedy is one of my favorites. She has a website Captureyour365.com. You can subscribe via email and she’ll send a photo prompt every day. Or you can get her monthly checklists.
