Welcome to another edition of Scrapper Spotlight! Hold onto your seats friends, you are about to be wowed big time! Today’s scrapper in the spotlight is someone who not only can work some paper magic on layouts, but also creates stunning mini albums! Please give a big warm welcome to the talented and beautiful Tara Anderson!!! Let’s find out more about her….

Q: WHY do you scrap?
A: So, I’ll admit it. I use scrapbooking as a form of artistic expression. I love being able to tell a story by combining paper, paint, fabric and the fact that I can add a photo on top of all that is the icing on the cake! I suppose scrapbooking for me is more about enjoying the creative process rather than the ‘memory keeping’ aspect of the hobby. I very rarely will scrapbook the big moments *birthdays/holidays* and I never pressure myself to scrapbook every photo I take, just the ones that I feel inspired to create with and that usually means the simple everyday moments.

Q: When did you start scrapbooking?
A: I started about 6 years ago. My daughter Alaina had turned 1 and I had a box FULL of photos but no real creative idea of what to do with them. Of course, I could have put them into a photo album but that just wasn’t going to do. I had been painting for a couple of years and had lots of random craft supplies; stamps, papers, stickers. I starting playing with combining everything together and viola, I had discovered the world of scrapbooking!

Q: Paper or Digi?
A: Paper! I’ll never be able to stray from using actual physical products plus I really like the feel/texture and even the smell of working with paper!

Q: I can’t scrap without _____.
A: It’s a toss up between spray paint or the sewing machine. I tend to use both on almost everything I create.

Q: What’s your “theme song”?
A: U2 - I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

Q: I bet you didn’t know _____.
A: Yikes! This is a tough question. My life’s kind of an open book because of my blog, but I would say that music is so incredibly important to me. I play the trumpet everyday, it’s actually never in it’s case - I purposeley leave it out so I can grab it and play whenever I have any time to myself. I also have a clarinet and a concert French Horn that I play regularly but there’s just something about the trumpet that I love. It’s loud and brassy and it’s a chance for me to use my ‘outdoor voice’ inside! My kids also love it when I play, they like the Disney songs, I myself am partial to New Orleans - Dixieland style jazz.

Q: Favorite scrap store?
A: I’m almost embarrassed for saying this but it’s been about 2 in half years since I visited an actual scrapbook store. I don’t get out much. My favorite little shop closed a couple of years ago, a cute little store called Mad Scrappers, so I’ll go with my runner up Scrap etc. in Mesa, AZ. I can’t bring myself to shop online, I need to touch everything first!
