A special thanks to todays kind scrapper who swooped down at the last second to save the day for me! Please give a big warm welcome to the creative and sweet Michelle Huegel (aka editorial dragon)!!! Grab a cup of coffee and come learn a bit more about Michelle…

Q: WHY do you scrap?
A: Oh, so many reasons! Honestly, if it was for just one reason I think I would have quit long ago. My track record for crafty project follow-through is not good! I get all excited about something then get bored about two months in. I think I first scrapbook for myself, because I love creating, I love playing with paper and pretty things (digital or paper). It’s really the only artistic-type thing I can do. But I think I’ve stuck with it because it’s about more than just “being artsy” - it’s a way to preserve memories for my family, to capture stories that otherwise would fade into the haze of life with young children. I’m excited about one day getting all these layouts printed and paging through them with my children, telling them the stories, and reminiscing.

Q: When did you start scrapbooking?
A: I’ve paper scrapped off and on since I was a teenager. I started learning digi roughly 4 1/2 years ago (I say roughly because I’m sure I started before getting married, which was four years ago this month - beyond that I have no idea. I blame my kids for the memory loss.)

Q: Paper or Digi?
A: I’m bi-scraptual. Heehee. I’m not sure who first said that, but I giggle every time I hear it. Actually I’m about 95% digi, with three little boys and a teeny 2-bedroom apartment I have no time or space to paper scrap whole layouts, but I do love to dabble in hybrid, paper cards, and mini-book projects.

Q: I can’t scrap without _____.
A: My computer is the first thing that comes to mind, but that sounds really obvious and boring. The second thing that comes to mind is Facebook - I’m ADD and can’t focus on one thing, I flip between Photoshop, Facebook, and usually about 3-5 other sites when I scrap. On layouts, I almost always use stitching. Probably because I can’t really sew to save my life, I have some weird fascination with digital stitches.

Q: What’s your “theme song”?
A: That’s a hard one. I can’t listen to music and do anything else at the same time, except drive, I’m too distractable. And I have a terrible memory for song names. But right now I’m really feeling Do Everything by Steven Curtis Chapman. Just seems to describe my life right now!

Q: I bet you didn’t know _____.
A: …I really do have ADD! I was diagnosed in college. I self-medicate with caffeine, since the meds aren’t safe to take while pregnant or nursing, and I’ve been one or the other for the last 3 years and 9 months straight (my oldest just turned 3, and the baby is 5 months old and still going strong)! Actually, my husband has it too, which makes life very interesting sometimes!!

Q: Favorite scrap store?
A: My Paypal says The Lilypad . I’m also a big fan of Mscraps and Catscrap.
