Scrapper Spotlight | Sharon Dale

Hi Hi Shay here, to bring you another edition of Scrapper Spotlight! If you’re not already familiar with Sharon’s creative genius, you’re in for a real treat! Not only she is a wonderful hybrid scrapper nope she also creats amazing layouts . Her layouts are so super creativ and she makes marvelous art journalings pages . Q: WHY do you scrap?
A: I seem to have acquired a major obsession to scrapbook and I just can’t help myself (am I the only one with this problem)! I’m always thinking of colours, compositions, ideas, projects and the like but I mainly do it as a creative outlet for myself….me time and time to reflect on memories of my life, my family, my pets and our experiences. It’s very therapeutic and I lose myself in Photoshop each and every day.

Q: When did you start scrapbooking?
A: I first started out with traditional paper scrapbooking in late 2003 when my first son was born. I’d never heard of scrapbooking and I was introduced to it via a Creative Memories workshop. Then I found a local scrapbook shop that offered classes and once I started, I was pulled in hook, line and sinker. I loved coming home with a completed page and the teachers were amazing. At some point not long after that, I discovered Photoshop Elements and was able to play around and edit my photos (red eye, contrast, brightness, etc). Once I realised there was a whole world of digital scrapbooking, that became my main focus. What Photoshop offered was amazing and I haven’t looked back since although I still have my huge paper stash and do break out a hybrid project once in a while!

Q: Paper or Digi?
A:I’ll always be a digital gal but I cannot bear to ever part with my traditional paper and craft stash. I’ve done hybrid projects, mixed media projects, altered art projects and traditional scrapbook pages amongst all my digital projects.

Q: I can’t scrap without _____.
A: Photoshop. It’s an amazing program that offers endless boundaries for your scrapbooking creativity. Oh, that…and chocolate!

Q: I bet you didn’t know _____.
A: Gosh, there’s nothing exciting that I can reveal about myself! How boring am I?!? I’m a left-hander, I had my first child when I was 33, 11 years after meeting my now ex-husband, um….haven’t worked full time since 2001. Nup, nothing too exciting to reveal!

Q: Favorite scrap store?
A: There’s not just one….but my most favourite apart from One Story Down would have to be The Lilypad, ScrapbookGraphics and Designer Digitals.
