One Story Down has kicked off a new set of art journaling challenges for 2013!

We’re working to line up some interviews with fabulous art journalers, we will be having a chat and other fun in the upcoming weeks/months, and what you’ve really been waiting for… Julie and Donna of Sissy Sparrows are offering up some fabulous freebies every couple of weeks to give you a little creative boost/jumpstart. There will also be some prompts and a color swatch to help get you inspired. It is super easy to play along. Use one of the colors from the swatch, use all of the freebie elements, create a page and submit it to the gallery (by midnight EST on 1.24.13), and voila… you are eligible to win a prize!

Most importantly, you should just explore your creative side. Don’t worry if you’ve never created an art journal page before. No one is going to judge if it is “art journal” or “deep” enough. You can basically just consider it a scrap page with a twist. It is all about playing with color, elements, creativity and imagination to find a way to express yourself in a different way. You don’t have to divulge tons of intimate details about yourself on the page either. Use an element that may symbolize something you are feeling; no one has to know the true story behind it.

Remember… just have fun!

And you can always share art journaling layouts in the Art Journaling Gallery on Facebook!

Are you ready for a new adventure?!?!

In the spirit of fun, we’ve come up with a little story for you to get you in the mood and create the atmosphere of The Loft.
